Florence Shone is a self-taught artist who originates from Piikani Nation, one of the three Blackfoot nations in Southern Alberta.
She is a descendant of Many Swans, a chief and an original signatory of Treaty 7.
Florence is a 60’s scoop survivor, who now resides in Edmonton, Alberta. She has been painting for 20 years, working mostly with acrylic paint but also water colours and clay!
She explores through colour and imagery landscapes & historical portrait work as subjects in her artwork of Southern Alberta and the original inhabitants, the Nitsitapi.
