My name is Mary Big Bull and I am a Blackfoot woman from Siksika Nation. I am not only a photographer, but a nurse and business owner. I love capturing images of my people and culture.
I have been a photographer for 3 years now. My business “Mary Big Bull Photography” has been in business for the same length of time as well.
I have always had a passion for photography. For capturing and freezing moments in time. I find it’s a crucial part of keeping our history and culture alive. I have photographed everything from combat sports to rodeos to pow wows to events to family portraits. I try to keep my scope large and to take any opportunities that arise.
I am a mother of 3 and a wife and I love doing what I do. Photography has become such a special part of my life. I have met amazing people along the way. It’s such a blessing to know my images will be around forever, that’s one of the reasons why I do this. So families to come will have photos of their family members to remember them by. Photos are so important.
I am grateful for photography and I look forward to continuing my work as an indigenous photographer.
